Welcome to the Friendly Cribbage League web site

We play on Monday nights at various venues throughout South East London from September to April starting at 8.00pm

The normal format of a league evening is 6 games of individual Sixes, 3 games of Doubles and 6 games of Fives

Beginners and experienced players are welcome, just turn up on a home match night at your local venue.

We are always looking for new players to join our existing teams or pubs who wish to start a team no matter how experienced you are. To find your local team please look at our contact page and contact your local team or our fixtures secretary Gary Hart.  Alternatively just turn up a a pub on a fixtures night and introduce yourself.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

COVID UPDATE

Despite the possibility of pubs opening up in July I'm afraid the league will not be resuming any time.  Given the uncertainty and need for social distancing it would be unfair to our teams to even consider restarting.  For those missing their cribbage fix there are a number of online games where you can play each other (and not just a computer) such as this one

League Update

It has been decided that the last league game of the season will be played as normal on 23 March but the dates for the individual tournament finals will be put on hold for a period of 3-4 weeks while we see how the Corona virus issue plays out.

Captains' Charity Night Presentation

The League raised a record £1,500 this year at our annual Charity Night. It started in recognition for the exceptional care that Lewisham Hospital’s Critical Care Unit, gave to a former player from the Jolly Farmers team. The event has been going for eight years and has raised nearly £5,000 for the Unit. The money will go towards purchasing equipment and improving the Critical Care Unit’s facilities and also for the benefit of patients and their families

Many thanks to our hosts at the Morden Arms David Longhurst and Judith Kemp who have shown amazing support not just with very generous financial contributions but other valuable assistance as well. Special mention must be given to Bateaux Cruises, Abigail Heptinstall from Bill’s Restaurants Ltd and the aptly named “Pork Chop” Sean, all of whom donated magnificent items to be auctioned, which resulted in this year’s record.
